    Whiplash injury in Hackney

Hackney is one of many London boroughs. This particular borough falls within the Inner London area and it is thought that around 263,000 people live there. Many more work in the area but may live elsewhere in London or outside it altogether. Since the area is heavy with traffic on a regular basis, it is perhaps no big surprise to find that car accidents do sometimes happen there. Generally, the area is very safe to drive in, but you never know if a whiplash injury in Hackney could be just around the corner.

Whiplash can potentially occur in other situations, but road accidents tend to be the reason why most cases of whiplash occur. Even if you are driving relatively slowly, a collision will very often cause your vehicle to stop suddenly. When this happens, the combined force of your car and the speed of the other vehicle will cause your head to move forwards or to one side very quickly indeed. This causes the whiplash to happen.

    More about whiplash

You don’t usually have to go for any tests to determine if you have whiplash. However, even if you do have it, you should still see your GP. Tell them you were in a road accident and describe what happened; this will usually be enough, along with describing your symptoms, for them to form a definitive diagnosis.

It also means you will have that diagnosis on your medical file, which will help when you come to make a compensation claim (assuming you wish to do so). There is good reason for doing this, because you can end up being compensated for pain, injuries and any loss of income you may suffer as a result of being off work (if this is the case).
