Below is a run down of some well known vitamins and eating tips that can help your body to regain full health:

    Vitamin C

Vitamin C is one of the vitamins you should be getting plenty of every day as without it the body is more likely to suffer from infections and illnesses. After an accident or injury you should up your intake of vitamin C as it will stave off infections which could slow your recovery, and help with maintaining bone and cartilage to speed up your recovery.

    Vitamin C is present in:

    • Oranges
    • Kiwi
    • Broccoli
    • Peppers

    Vitamin A

This vitamin is the one which promotes the healing of your body, through creation of white blood cells, the cells which fight off infection and viruses. The more vitamin A you are taking in, the less likely it is that your injury will have further complications related to infection.

    Find Vitamin A in:

    • Carrots
    • Sweet potatoes
    • Spinach
    • Pumpkins and squash

Although carbohydrates are best known for providing your body with fuel, after an injury, protein will be the best for repairing muscles and speeding up your recovery time. Protein also provides you with a much more long-lasting source of fuel that your body can use well to keep you going without adding weight that could slow down your recovery and put extra pressure on your back or joints.

Protein is found in the highest concentrations in:

    • Beef
    • Chicken
    • Eggs
