"If you've been injured through no fault of your own you could be entitled to compensation. If you're unsure if you could claim, I recommend you call Accident Advice Helpline."

Road accident on the busy UK roads

It is common knowledge that in general, women are more likely to suffer from a neck problem than a man is.  If that neck problem happens because of a road accident on the street there is a good chance it is a whiplash injury, as this is the most common way of sustaining it.

If that accident was not your fault, and it happened with the last three years, you might want to speak with an injury lawyer, as they may be able to make a personal injury claim on your behalf.

The neck pain may mean you want to make a claim for a road accident

One of the most common, but by no means only, causes of neck injuries are a road accident.  The most common injury resulting from road accidents is whiplash, which is very painful and can be disabling. This is caused by the force of a rear end shunt making the head of the occupants of the front car jerk suddenly backwards, forwards or sideways; creating the perfect circumstances for a neck injury, and a perfect reason to make a personal injury claim.

    Symptoms of whiplash

The signs for a whiplash injury can vary quite a lot depending on how bad the injury is, and sometimes the symptoms do not manifest themselves immediately, but they can include:

    • Pain in the arms and legs
    • Pain in the back
    • Numbness in the arms and legs, or pins and needles
    • Headaches
    • Anxiety or depression
    • Muscle spasms
    • Dizziness
    • Tiredness
    • Blurred vision
    • Vertigo
    • Pain to the neck area

If you suffer any of these symptoms after an accident, it is possible you have a whiplash injury and you should seek medical attention to ensure there are no other problems, such as a broken bone.
