What sort of accidents could I have a personal injury lawsuit for?

    • A motor accident as either a driver, passenger or pedestrian
    • An accident in a public place, such as falling over a bit of pavement sticking up in the high street
    • An accident at work, or a slip, trip or fall in the workplace

How do I find out if I have a personal injury lawsuit?

There are certain criteria you will need to meet in the first instance; the accident has to have happened in the last 3 years and you will need to prove that the accident was not your fault. If you are in any way unsure, try our free, compensation calculator to see if you have a valid personal injury lawsuit and find how much you could be entitled to. If you would rather speak to someone, our free phone helpline is open 24 hours a day to give you free and trusted advice about your claim on 0800 689 0500 or from your mobile on 0333 500 0993.

What should I do after an accident?

Firstly, you should always seek medical attention following an accident. Any injuries will need to be properly assessed. Make sure you ask for a copy of any medical notes relating to your accident, this will be useful evidence in your personal injury lawsuit. Other things particularly useful as evidence are witness details and if you are able to take any photographs of the accident site or injuries you received. Next, make your claim as soon as possible but it needs to be within 3 years. The sooner you make a claim the sooner you will receive the compensation that is rightfully yours!

Will I need to have a medical assessment?

You may be required to attend one more independent assessment; this is nothing to worry about and simply helps us to see how well your recovery is going and if there is any urgent issues which need medical attention.

Will I have to go to court?

Usually most of our cases are settled outside of court, which saves the victim having to go through emotionally and physically draining court cases

    Who will pay my compensation?

By Law in the UK, every road user, company and council will need to purchase appropriate insurance so they are covered in the event of an accident. It will be the third parties’ insurance that will pay out your compensation so you won’t need to worry about upsetting the other party involved in the accident.

Whatever your accident, Accident Advice Helpline are here for you through every step of your personal injury lawsuit.
