What is the limitation period for filing a claim?

Normally, at least for accidents that happened in this country, you have three years to file a claim from the date of the accident. There are some accidents and their injuries that must be claimed for within months of the accident, however. The sooner you find out precisely how long you have to make your claim the better. When the deadline for filing your particular claim has passed, it is difficult to file it. You would have to prove that there had been exceptional circumstances which had prevented you from doing so within the set period.

The sooner you contact us at Accident Advice Helpline to find out how long you have to file your potential claim the better. After all, no one wants to miss the chance to be compensated for their injuries.

How much compensation will I receive?

The amount of compensation you receive depends on many factors. That is why no one can accurately predict how much you might receive if your claim is successful.

    Open Claim Calculator

You can be awarded compensation for the severity of your injuries and the pain, distress and suffering they caused you. If you used to enjoy doing something, such as a hobby or sport, prior to your accident, you can be compensated for this loss of amenity if you can’t do it any longer.

If you have to have time off work you can receive compensation for loss of earnings. The amount you receive would be calculated from your pay slips. If you are unlikely to be able to return to work you can receive compensation for both past and future loss of earnings.

There are also other things for which you might receive compensation.
