Maesteg Compensation

Maesteg is a community and town within the county borough of Bridgend in the south east of Wales. Maesteg can be found at the northernmost end of the Llynfi Valley, close to the border with Neath Port Talbot and was historically a part of Glamorgan.

As with many Welsh towns, Maesteg has a coal mining tradition but it was the opening of ironworks within the settlement during the 1820’s and 1830’s that really led to the rapid expansion of the town. Unfortunately for the town, both coal mining and ironworking have long since declined and the closure of other notable employers in Maesteg in recent years has led to the town changing its overall character dramatically.

Modern Day Maesteg

The aforementioned decline of notable industries and closure of large employers in Maesteg has led to the south wales town becoming a dormitory settlement for the likes of Bridgend, Port Talbot and Cardiff. This means that a large number of the approximately 17,500 residents of Maesteg don’t actually work in the town and instead travel to one of those larger settlements for work.

All of this means that the economic activity of the town is diminished but the human activity remains fairly brisk. It is for this reason, therefore, that the town can still unfortunately see a comparatively high number of accidents and injuries. With that in mind, it is understandable that we will now turn our attention to Maesteg compensation claims.

Maesteg Compensation Claims

As is the case all over the UK, in Maesteg compensation claims can be pursued by a person who has suffered an injury in an incident where another party was definitively to blame. That party may be another individual, an organisation, or a company and common types of incident which create claims include road traffic accidents and injuries in the workplace.

If the above information is news to you and makes you think that you may be entitled to pursue your own Maesteg compensation claim then you will want to read on and find out who you will want to contact for help in doing so.
