    Car insurance injury claims

Personal injury claims are most likely to be a result of a car accident. With the huge number of cars on the roads in the UK, it is not surprising that most of us will be involved in a car accident at some point in our lives.

A car accident can be a distressing experience. You may be fortunate enough not to be physically injured, although many people will suffer physical and emotional injures as a result of a car accident each year.

Common injuries from a car accident:

    • Whiplash
    • Head injuries
    • Back injuries

As well as the physical injuries, you can also suffer emotional injuries such as flash-backs, difficulty with sleeping and depression. If the car accident you were involved in was not your fault then you may be able to claim personal injury compensation.

Every car owner/driver in the UK is required to have a car insurance policy. There are different types of coverage you may have:

    Open Claim Calculator

Third Party: Third Party insurance is the minimum cover you are required to have by law. This policy is the most basic, and only covers liability to third parties.

Third Party, fire and theft: This car insurance policy offers the same cover as third party, with the additional cover for loss or damage to your own car as a result of a fire or theft.

Fully Comprehensive cover: This type of policy offers the most complete level of car insurance protection. Like the above two policies it covers third party liability, but has the advantage of also providing your own car with cover against accidental damage. Fully comprehensive insurance cover is the most extensive type of car insurance cover.

    Claiming for personal injury compensation

With most car insurance injury claims, compensation cannot be made unless you have purchased additional legal cover with the car insurance policy.

Fortunately, you can claim personal injury compensation if your car insurance injury claims policy does not provide cover. The requirements are that the accident was not your fault, but that of a negligent or careless third party. It must be possible to prove fault, or the third party should admit liability. The other requirement is that the car accident occurred within the last three years.

Accident Advice Helpline is a specialist law firm. We are experienced and knowledgeable in helping victims of negligence claim compensation for their personal injury and any financial losses due to a car accident.

You will be appointed a qualified personal injury solicitor to help you with your claim for compensation. The personal injury compensation claim will be made against the negligent party’s car insurance injury claims policy.
