Liverpool Street Station is also known as London Liverpool Street Station. It is a central London railway terminus, which is connected to the London Underground, the fourth largest underground system in the world. Liverpool Street was opened in 1874 as a replacement for Bishopsgate Station, which was changed to a freight terminal. In 1917, Liverpool Street was the where the first bomb landed on London and in World War 2 it acted as a terminus for thousands of child refugees.

The station fell into a state of disrepair and was refurbished between 1985 and 1992. In 2012, over 57 million passengers passed through its doors, making it one of the busiest railway stations in the UK.

In 2013, an excavation found the remains of several hundred people beneath the station.  It appears the bodies were of rich and poor alike, and it is thought that a burial pits was dug because the local graveyards were full to capacity.  These are thought to be the bodies of plague victims and mental patients that were not claimed by their families. Also discovered at the site were Roman horseshoes and a 16th century gold coin.

Railway stations, just like airports and ports, are prime locations for accidents to happen.  The number of vehicles and people in and around them all the time, almost make it inevitable.  If you have an accident, in which you were injured, and the accident was not your fault, you may be able to make a personal injury claim using an injury lawyer in Liverpool Street.
