    Injury claim in South Northamptonshire

Using the Internet to launch an injury claim in South Northamptonshire is an absolute piece of cake when you employ the no win no fee* services of Accident Advice Helpline. It doesn’t matter what the injury is, or how you sustained it, as long as someone else is to blame. One of the biggest causes of accidents and injuries in the workplace are falls from height.

Worker breaks wrist in 4 metre fall from barn roof

A 25 year-old worker was lucky to escape with only a broken wrist when he fell over 4 metres while on a job in Barnsley installing solar panels. The roof was a barn roof that contained roof-lights. It was one of these that the 25-year-old worker fell through. The broken wrist that he sustained required metal pins to be inserted in order to hold the bones together correctly, to enable them to repair themselves.

Company neglected to provide any safeguards

The company that employed the injury victim did not provide any safeguards by way of crawler boards or fall arrest harnesses. Worse still, work was allowed to continue without any safety measures in place until it was completed some two days later.

It was not the first incident of this nature. According to employees, they had warned their employer of about safe working at height when a similar accident happened eight months before.

Business has subsequently gone into liquidation

The company offered a guilty plea in respect of two breaches to the Work at Height Regulations 2005. They were fined a total of £25,000 and instructed to pay a further £541 in costs. The company has subsequently gone into liquidation.
