How to deal with anger and make an injury claim  after any accident

There are a thousand things which may make you angry during your day to day life, and most of these will come and go in an instant. This means that even if you are feeling angry in one moment, a few minutes later something else will happen and you will move onto a different emotion.

However, if you have been involved in a serious accident, or suffered a trauma of some kind, it is normal to feel angry for some time after the fact, and this can make it extremely difficult for you to get on with your day to day life. Anger is a very damaging emotion, and one which can seriously bring you down over time. Here are some ways to move past it.

    • Know why you are angry. One of the strange things about anger is that often people feel very angry without actually knowing why they are feeling what they are feeling. You should think carefully about what you are struggling with, in order to decide whether or not there is a real reason for you to be angry.
    • Deal with what is making you angry. Anger may be natural, but it doesn’t get you anywhere. You should think about the situation that is making you angry, and then find out what you can do about it to make the situation better for you and anyone else involved. Making positive steps towards changing the situation should kill your anger.
    • Get past it. If you find that you are angry about something that you cannot change at all, then you really do need to just get past the issue. Allow yourself to feel angry, sad and whatever else you are struggling with for the time being, but then stop and move past these feelings.
    • Distract yourself. If you are finding it hard to stop feeling angry, try to find something else that you can do to distract yourself in the meantime.
