    Gwersyllt accident claims helpline

    A compensation claim for an injury sustained in an accident as a lollipop lady can be started by contacting the accident claims helpline

    The village of Gwersyllt is found in the Wrexham county in Wales and it was the location of an incident involving a lollipop lady being hit by a vehicle near a school. The woman, Debbie Jones, suffered serious injuries as a result of the incident that occurred outside of a Community Primary School in the afternoon.

    A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service said that they were contacted just after 3pm with reports of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian outside of the Community Primary School situated on Dodds Lane. They sent a rapid response vehicle with a paramedic, as well as an emergency ambulance crew and they transported the woman that was hit to Wrexham Maelor Hospital. She was the treated for serious injuries although they were not life-threatening. It has been reported that Ms Jones suffered a broken ankle injury from the collision.

    A spokeswoman for the North Wales Police said that they also were contacted just after 3pm about the collision between the lollipop lady and a vehicle on Dodds Lane. She continued by stating that the police are currently conducting inquiries to find out what caused the incident.

    The school that has an estimated 307 students, made a statement to the media that said they wished Ms Jones a quick recovery. They also said that Ms Jones had been working with the school as a lollipop lady for many years and was popular with the students. The school headteacher was not available for comment as he was still dealing with the incident at the time.

    The Wrexham Council also made a statement in regards to the incident and said that they are aware of what happened to the school crossing patrol employee and will be working with the local police to determine the cause of the incident.
