"If you've been injured through no fault of your own you could be entitled to compensation. If you're unsure if you could claim, I recommend you call Accident Advice Helpline."

    Doncaster Accident

Many people assume that most instances take place in a hospital environment but this isn’t always true. Although it is possible to be harmed because of medical negligence whilst receiving treatment in hospital, this isn’t the only environment in which medical or clinical negligence can occur.

If you visit your local GP or you receive treatment from your doctor, it’s possible that you could be harmed if they were to act negligently. In fact, if they fail to act at all, this could also be deemed to be negligent. If, for example, they failed to diagnose you correctly or failed to refer you for further treatment, this could be considered to be a negligent act.

Similarly, if you receive treatment in a walk-in centre or a health clinic, it’s possible that you could be treated negligently and you may be able to go on and make a claim for a Doncaster accident if this were to happen.

Although most people assume that doctors and nurses commit medical negligence, it’s possible that any member of the medical profession could commit an act of negligence. You could even make a claim if you were treated negligently by a pharmacist or trainee doctor. If, for example, your pharmacist gave you the wrong prescription and you suffered because of this, you could go on to obtain compensation from them.

Whilst they may not have intended to harm you and the negligence could be down to a simple act of human error, this won’t necessarily prevent you from making a compensation claim for a Doncaster accident.
