    Compensation claims value in Cornwall

There is no simple way to calculate a compensation claims value in Cornwall. Experienced personal injury solicitors, such as Accident Advice Helpline, are able to provide an estimate, as long as you were not the person who caused the accident.

Some people like to be able to plan how they spend their compensation, but as there is no set scale for every injury, it can be difficult to calculate how much your compensation will actually be. Accident Advice Helpline have a unique 30 second test which can help you.

Accident Advice Helpline’s 30 second test

Our friendly advisors can use this test over the phone to tell you if you are able to make a claim, and they can then provide you with an estimate of your compensation claims value in Cornwall. The test will centre about three main points.

    • Who caused your accident? Compensation can only be paid out if somebody else was to blame for causing your accident. Self-inflicted injuries, or accidents caused by your own actions, mean you cannot make a claim.
    • It’s always best to consult a medical practitioner after you’ve sustained an injury. Some minor injuries could be hiding more serious ones, so a proper assessment will mean these are found and treated. As part of a compensation claim, you will need to show that you had your injuries treated, as this can provide evidence about how serious they were.
    • As with everything, there is a deadline to make a claim. You can start one as soon as you want to, but it must be started within three years from when your accident happened.

Compensation can also include amounts for out of pocket expenses and loss of earnings, so these will affect the amount you are paid as well.
