“Where there’s blame there’s a claim” is an old saying that sounds a bit like an advertising slogan, and in fact that is what it originally was. It was coined in the early part of this century by a now defunct claim management company seeking victims to claim for personal injury.
Although the company did not last very long, their advertising slogan did and is still often quoted, as the basis that it is very true, where there’s blame there’s a claim.
If you are injured in any accident that was not your own fault, you are entitled to make a personal injury claim, as long as your injuries needed medical attention and the accident happened no more than three years ago.
Claim for personal injury at work
All employers have a legal duty to protect the health and safety of their employees while they are at work. Not only is it their duty, it makes good business sense as less time will be lost if employees are fit and healthy.
Putting a health and safety policy in place and making sure all employees adhere to it helps keep the business running smoothly and helps prevent employees being inured in an accident at work.
Where there’s blame there’s a claim in a road traffic accident
You could be the best driver on UK roads and someone else being reckless can cause an accident. The most common cause cited for road traffic accidents is a lack of concentration, it only needs something to distract a driver for a few seconds for an accident to happen, and they do all the time, the government estimating that the total annual figure for road traffic accidents in the UK exceeds 500,000.
Where there’s blame there’s a claim in a slip, trip or fall accident
These are the most common of the 3 million accidents that happen every year in the UK, the injuries from them not always being as minor as people think. If the fall is from height, or the trip throws you into oncoming traffic or a piece of moving machinery, the consequences for the victim can be very serious indeed.
