    Car accident claim advice

When you have been in a car accident, there are many things that are going to go through your mind. But the way that you act and the things that you do after your car accident can make a big difference in what happens if you make a claim. So below are some pieces of advice that you can use to help you have a better result if you were to make a claim after your car accident.

Car accident claim advice 1 – Stay there

If you were in an accident, you shouldn’t drive away. You should be sure that the vehicle’s secure and safe. If you’re in the middle of the street, pull over. If the accident’s somewhat serious or someone’s injured, it’s a good idea to get the police involved by calling them.  After it’s safe be sure that the details are exchanged. Provide your name, contact details, insurer name, and address. Also get their information too. You also should get their car information. You should also get information from the witnesses.

Car accident claim advice 2 – Take pictures

If you’ve got a phone with a camera on it or a camera with you, take some pictures of the scene and include lots of angles so that you can provide proof. You also should take pictures of the damage to your car and the other person’s car. Also include the things like the time of day and the incident’s date, and conditions of the weather, and the precise address where the accident happened.

Car accident claim advice 3 – Report the accident

Report your accident to the insurer quickly, even when you don’t want to make any claim. It may be that you are going to be asked for the details on the phone or there may be a form that the insurer will send you. It’s also possible with some of the insurers to claim online. Maybe the car was stolen or vandalized or you think the accident had been unlawful, such as with a suspected drunk driver or speeding.

Car accident claim advice 4 – Is making a claim a good idea?

When you claim on the insurance, remember that you might have to pay something called an excess, especially if the accident was partially or entirely your fault. This is the money that you have to pay in order to make your claim.  You may be able to find out what you’ll need to pay through your policy or through contacting the insurer.
