"If you've been injured through no fault of your own you could be entitled to compensation. If you're unsure if you could claim, I recommend you call Accident Advice Helpline."

    Birmingham car accident

Construction tends to pop up when you least expect it, and your journey to work may be completely clear one day, and a dangerous construction zone the next. As long as you know how to drive safely when there is construction going on, you should be able to avoid a Birmingham car accident, and keep a clear head so that the journey isn’t too traumatic. If you are careful and get into a Birmingham car accident anyway, then you should be able to claim compensation back for any injuries, as well as claim on the other driver’s insurance.

    Look out for debris

In any construction zone, there is bound to be debris. This may not be anything huge or obvious like bricks or skips, but may be dust and rubble which covers the surface of the road and makes it more difficult to drive. If you see a construction zone, then the best thing to do is to avoid driving close to it at all, or drive very slowly if you do have to pass nearby.

    Start slowing down early

Any construction area should be signposted for a little while before you reach it. Once you see signs which warn that there is construction happening nearby, the best thing you can do is to start slowing down immediately. This means that you will be driving at a safer speed when you do find the building work.

    Do as you are told

With some types of construction, there will be someone working on directing traffic away from the more dangerous areas, to keep the area clear for the workers and those driving. Even if you usually take a different route or do things differently, do as you are told in this instance to avoid getting into an accident or causing trouble. If you are confused by the instructions then wind down your window and ask politely what you need to be doing.
