    Auto injury

Being involved in an auto accident is not only a traumatic experience but can also lead to a wide range of injuries which can have lasting effects. Common auto injuries include:

    • Whiplash
    • Bruising and lacerations
    • Head Injuries
    • Broken bones
    • Spinal injuries

If your auto accident/injury took place within the last three years and somebody else was to blame, you could be entitled to personal injury compensation.

How can I prove someone else was to blame for my auto injury?

There are a number of things that you can do in order to help establish blame. Photographs at the scene and sketches of the position of the vehicles involved prior to and after the crash can provide valuable evidence. You should also write down a full account of how the accident came about as soon as possible after the event, while it is still fresh in your mind. If you have any reason to suspect that the other party had been drinking or using a mobile phone, make a note of this. Remember, the at fault party may well later deny or dispute the circumstances of the accident, so you will need to be well prepared. Police and insurance reports will also form part of the evidence in any subsequent compensation claim.

Can I claim for expenses as well as injuries?

If we are able to successfully prove on your behalf that another person was responsible for your auto injury, you will be awarded an amount of money for your pain and suffering. In addition, you can claim expenses which were a direct result of your accident. These might include:

    • Repair or replacement of your vehicle
    • Cost of towing your vehicle away
    • Medical expenses
    • Travel expenses to and from hospital

It’s important to keep receipts so that we can recover these costs for you. Your solicitor will be able to provide you with further advice and information on what you can claim for and what evidence you will need.
