Castle Point is a borough and local government district in the southern part of the ceremonial County of Essex, in the south of England. The borough is situated approximately 35 miles (56 km) from Central London, and consists of the districts known as Canvey Island, Hadleigh, South Benfleet and Thundersley.

The borough came into being back in 1974 with the merger of the Benfleet Urban District and the Canvey Island Urban District, and the name of the new borough took its inspiration from the most prominent landmarks in the two historic boroughs; Hadleigh Castle and Canvey Point.
