"If you've been injured through no fault of your own you could be entitled to compensation. If you're unsure if you could claim, I recommend you call Accident Advice Helpline."

The truth about workplace injury statistics

If you have been injured in an accident at work, you’re not alone. Workplace injury statistics show just how common accidents at work are, and how many people are seriously injured or even killed in these types of accidents each year.

Our own website is a great source of information when it comes to workplace injury statistics, but the Health and Safety Executive’s website is also a great place to find facts and figures that you can rely on. Between 2015 and 2016, 144 people were fatally injured in accidents at work in the UK, with falls from height the most common reason for workplace fatalities. Many more hundreds of workers suffer serious or minor injuries, and they could be eligible to make a claim for personal injury compensation.

What injuries can you claim compensation for?

You can make a claim for any injury suffered in an accident at work, provided your accident was caused by somebody else’s negligence. For example, perhaps you fell off a ladder whilst working in a storeroom because the ladder was faulty. Or maybe you slipped on a wet floor whilst working in a bar after a colleague spilt food or drinks and failed to clean it up. If something like this has happened to you then you don’t need to suffer in silence.

Workplace injury statistics suggest that many people who are injured simply don’t bother to claim the injury compensation they are entitled to after their accident. You could get in touch with a personal injury lawyer within three years of your accident to find out if you could make a claim – and if somebody you love has been killed in an accident at work, you could make a claim on their behalf.

    Are workplace injury statistics accurate?

Provided you are on a reputable website such as our own site or the HSE website then you can be sure the statistics you’re reading are accurate. You can get in touch with us at any time after your accident to find out more about making a claim for compensation. Because we have over 15 years’ experience and come recommended by our patron, Dame Esther Rantzen, you know you can trust us to handle your claim.
