Hospital food hygiene rating leads to order for improvement

Hospital food hygiene rating leads to order for improvement

An inspection of a private Harley Street hospital by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has led to a two-star rating for the establishment, an analysis of FSA data has revealed. The private London hospital, which had poor standards of hospital food hygiene, was the only London hospital to receive such a low rating after its December inspection.

The rating means ‘improvement is necessary’ after the hospital food hygiene inspection at the UK’s largest independent hospital. This comes after the clinic received a five-star rating two years ago. After FSA inspections, almost 50 daycare centres and care homes in the capital were ordered to improve their food hygiene. A spokeswoman for the clinic said “We take food hygiene extremely seriously and strive to provide the best possible nutrition for our patients. Where the inspection did find opportunities for improvement was in structural issues, all of which have now already been addressed as part of our development works.”

If you have been struck down by food poisoning whilst in hospital, you may be eligible to make a claim for personal injury compensation, and that’s where Accident Advice Helpline can help. With more than 15 years’ experience in the industry, we can help you to get the compensation that you deserve.

    How have you been affected?

Most people assume that food poisoning isn’t serious, and whilst this is usually true it can unfortunately lead to complications. In rare cases, the symptoms of food poisoning, such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea and stomach cramps, can linger for weeks, months or even years, seriously affecting your quality of life. Whether you have been lucky enough to make a full recovery from your illness or are still suffering later, the hospital in question is to blame and you could claim compensation from them with Accident Advice Helpline.

    Choosing a personal injury lawyer

When you’re feeling better, it’s a good idea to get in touch with a personal injury lawyer to find out whether you have a viable claim. Choosing a lawyer who offers a 100% no win no fee* service is a great idea so that you don’t have any upfront fees to worry about. Choose Accident Advice Helpline and our team of expert personal injury advisors will also offer you confidential, no-obligation advice.
