Holiday survivor guide: Tasting local delicacies

Travelling abroad is always an exciting adventure. You get to see new places, meet new people and have a go at tasting local delicacies. However, when you are trying local delicacies you have to be careful especially those with sensitive stomachs.

Your stomach may not be used to spicy food, sweet food or simply certain food items. So, to avoid any travel accident claim follow our simple survival guide.

Ask questions before tasting local delicacies

If you are unsure of what a dish contains or what a certain food item is always ask. The waiter will most likely be more than happy to discuss the food and it may prevent you from becoming ill especially if it has something you are allergic to in it. To help prevent any travel accident claim always be aware of what you are ordering.

Follow recommendations with respect to tasting local delicacies

This is a key tip to follow. If someone you know, or someone at the hotel you are staying at recommends a place to eat then this may be a good place to start. The reason for this is that you know someone else has been there and they obviously had no bad reactions to the food otherwise they would not be recommending it.

If you are the type of person who can get an upset stomach quite easily recommendations could be vital to your trip to avoid needing to go through travel accident compensation.
