An Essex couple are suing holiday giant Thomson, after they were injured on one of the firm’s holidays.
Raymond and Constance Heath, from Benfleet, bought a holiday from the company to Cape Verde, off the west coast of Africa, in December 2009.
The ‘frail’ couple, aged 82 and 79 respectively, allege they were told to hurry up by staff as they disembarked at their destination, with the result that they both slipped and fell the entire length of the staircase. There had been no sign of the help that they had requested in advance.
Mrs Heath was particularly badly affected by her fall, and remains bedridden to this day after suffering a serious head injury. She also suffered extensive bruising.
She and her husband say their holiday was ruined and have decided to seek compensation from Thomson, who they blame for not arranging staff to meet them when they landed at Sal International Airport.Open Claim Calculator
