Girl who contracted e.coli wins compensation battle

The family of a six year old girl who contracted e.coli have won a share of £1 million in compensation from the farm responsible for the outbreak. During a visit to Godstone Farm, a total of 76 children fell ill with the bacterial infection, ten of which were seriously affected by the outbreak. One of these children was six year old Claudia who suffered acute kidney failure and spent three weeks in critical condition causing her family to take action. Claudia will now have to be monitored in the future to ensure that there are no complications due to the severe infection. The children who fell ill were reportedly able to enter enclosures and interact with various animals at the farm but were not given adequate provisions to clean up afterwards. Due to the strain of E.coli involved, hand sanitisers at the farm were not able to kill off the bacteria resulting in one of the worst outbreaks of E.coli Britain has ever seen. The family pursued compensation and shared a £1 million payout with the nine other families who were severely affected. The farm was held solely liable for the outbreak of infection due to the inadequate provisions for cleaning.
