A leading chiropractor is urging car accident victims to seek prompt treatment following a collision in case of whiplash damage.
Dr Benjamin Lurie, who is based in Las Vegas, said whiplash injuries can cause chronic neck pain, headaches and migraines, which can persist for months or even years without speedy treatment.
He is raising awareness of the dangers of whiplash injury and the benefits of chiropractic care for effective pain management and injury rehabilitation.
If you have suffered a whiplash injury as a result of a car accident that wasn’t your fault, you may be eligible for compensation, which Accident Advice Helpline can help you claim.

“A whiplash injury can happen to anyone,” said Dr Lurie. “All too often individuals walk away from minor traffic accidents and think they are healthy because there are no external injury symptoms. However, the musculoskeletal system may still have sustained serious trauma.”
Dr Lurie, from the Neck and Back Clinics, stressed that diagnostic tests are critical to identify these injuries and arrange prompt treatment.
“Chiropractors are specially trained to diagnose and treat musculoskeletal injuries like whiplash,” he said. “Chiropractic care is one of the most effective, drug-free treatments for whiplash pain relief. Prompt chiropractic care can make a significant difference for a patient’s overall health.”
Dr Lurie warned that it may take a while for symptoms of whiplash injury – including sleep disturbances and difficulty concentrating – to develop.
“By the time most people recognise the symptoms of whiplash injury, significant damage has already occurred,” he said. “With prompt injury diagnosis and treatment, we can help prevent many of these problems and support the body’s natural recovery process.”
A whiplash injury occurs when the force of a rear-impact accident “whips” the neck forwards and backwards, damaging the ligaments, tendons or muscles in the neck.
“While medication can relieve neck pain and headaches, drugs do not treat the underlying misalignment that is responsible for a patient’s pain,” said Dr Lurie. “Chiropractic adjustments do, which is why these adjustments are so important for providing long-lasting pain relief.”
