A power drill can make so many jobs so much easier than they would otherwise be. Think about a simple task such as hanging a picture for example. This would be virtually impossible to do if you had to bang a nail into a solid wall. With a drill you can make sure the hole is in the right place without any risk of hammering your thumb in the process.
Power drill accidents can and do occur, but they usually happen if the person using the drill is unfamiliar with how it works, or they are using it incorrectly. It is quite rare for anything else to happen to someone who is experienced in using the drill.
Can manufacturing faults lead to power drill accidents?
It’s rare, but in theory it could happen. The manufacturing process turns out many high-quality drills and other equipment every week. It would be rare for someone to end up being hurt as a result of a drill that was not made in the proper manner.
It is more common for someone to be hurt if they have not been properly instructed on how the drill works and how they should use it. For instance they might assume they can use it very slowly and yet it works much faster than they would expect. They might hold it at the wrong angle and it could slip, hurting their other hand in the process.
Proper training and awareness
It is clear that proper training in the workplace is essential if anyone is going to use a drill. Power drill accidents might be rare but when they do happen they can cause nasty injuries. The more you can do to stay safe, no matter where you are using your drill, the better off you will be. You can help keep the number of accidents down as low as possible.
