When we think of staying in a guest house we think of the time we will be spending relaxing there on a short break, or it being a place to unwind at the end of a hard working day when travelling for your vocation. Guest houses generally are hugely enjoyable experiences where the staff will do whatever they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
What we don’t think of when considering our stay away from home is that we may suffer from an accident in a guest house. Although the staff are trying to make your stay as comfortable as possible, they may on occasion be negligent regarding your health and safety and this can lead to a serious accident.
Why kind of accidents can happen?
Some guest houses may have been around for a very long time and it can be possible that the upkeep of the property has not been tended to in a suitable manner; this can possibly lead to accidents. Staff can find themselves incredibly busy, and sometimes leave apparatus they use for their work lying around on the floor, thus causing the potential for an accident.
An accident in a guest house may be due to the general deterioration of the property. A carpet may have started to come away from the skirting board and staff may have been aware of this but hadn’t dealt with it in a timely fashion. This carpet may get pulled further away from the side as time goes on and before you know it someone has suffered a bad trip from this loose carpet, which has led to some serious injuries.
What do you do if you think they have been negligent?
If you have found yourself a victim of negligence in a guest house, this may have ruined your trip away and left you with some nasty injuries. The good news is that although we cannot return the time back to you that you have lost from your accident, we may be able to get you the compensation you deserve due to the injuries you have suffered.
