Acting as a nanny for one or more children in a family can be a demanding task. However it can also be a good way to get some experience and to have a job that comes with a room and plenty of experience to boot.
Few nannies will find themselves nursing injuries during the time they are with a particular family. However this might happen if the family does not provide a safe home for them to reside in and look after the children in.
What might happen?
Let’s say for example the house the nanny is staying in has been rewired, but the job has not been done properly. If the nanny suffered an electric shock while using some of the kitchen equipment, there is a chance they might be able to claim nanny injury compensation, as negligence could well be proven in this case.
In another situation the nanny might be hurt if they slipped on a wet kitchen floor. This may have been mopped by the homeowner prior to leaving for work, and they hadn’t notified the nanny that it would be wet. This would be negligent on their part, and a claim for nanny injury compensation could be made if this could be proven.
