CITB training courses help reduce accidents at work

CITB training courses help reduce accidents at work

As the national training institution for the construction industry in the UK, CITB offers health and safety awareness courses to managers, senior staff and employees of the construction industry. There are a variety of CITB training courses on offer including the introductory Health Safety and Environment Test, the Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision and various other safety related certificated and courses. There are also a number of refresher courses and courses for apprentices available so that everyone who works on-site is fully aware of the policies relating to health and safety. As the construction industry has so many potential hazards, having a good health and safety policy in place and following proper procedures can be the difference between working safely and having a serious accident. However, despite the CITB training courses available accidents and injuries still have the potential to happen.

    Potential accidents and prevention

On a construction site, accidents can be prevented by proper training and implementation of health and safety procedures. However, accidents have the potential to happen in any risky environment, therefore it is important to be aware of how they can be prevented. The courses on offer by CITB help managers and workers to learn about how to use signage, how to maintain equipment and about the appropriate personal protective equipment to help reduce the risk of injury. If you do have an accident or become ill as a result of being on-site and there is evidence of negligence on the part of a third party, then you can make a compensation claim.
