Call for gas installers to create safety jingle

Call for gas installers to create safety jingle

Two gas installation companies are developing a unique idea to keep gas safety at the forefront of the public’s mind – a jingle.

Jingles – short tunes used for advertising – can stick in our heads for nearly an hour a week, according to research.

    Create your own jingle

Now, Installers First and Mark Grieves Plumbing & Heating wants to create a jingle for gas safety to help the public become more aware of this serious matter.

The companies wants gas installers to hum it when putting in new boilers or carrying out repairs.

They have launched #IFGSJingle – a competition to find the perfect song. It’s sponsored by Sentinel Performance Solutions Ltd.

Daniel Cheung, Trade Marketing Manager, Sentinel Performance Solutions Ltd said: “We want to support the professional accredited heating installer and shine a spotlight on those that look to cut corners.

“#IFGSJingle supports that aim in an interactive and fun way. I am looking forward to seeing the entries and being involved in what could potentially be a game changing initiative in Gas Safety.”

    Part of Gas Safety Week

Mark Grieves, Owner of Mark Grieves Plumbing & Heating, said; “Each year, the Gas Safe Register runs Gas Safety Week. 2017 is set to be the biggest Gas Safety campaign yet, making full use of social media and the instant connection that gas engineers have with members of the public and industry.

“Gas engineers are the undisputed and proven link between the public, governing bodies and the industry and are the best placed to ensure that public awareness is achieved. The #IFGSJingle competition is a fun creative way for passionate gas engineers to raise awareness.

“Gas is the forgotten dangerous substance in a property, which has the potential to cause serious damage and kill, in an instant.

“This is one of the reasons why we should all be aware of the dangers and risk involved, in allowing somebody who is not trained, qualified, registered or insured, to work on any gas installation.”
