    Survivor Guide: Visiting Taipei

Situated in the northern region of Taiwan, Taipei is an extremely welcoming place to visit and attracts those who like to experience the local culture of their destination in its entirety. There is an area to suit every holidaymaker, whether you want to lie on the beaches of the East Coast or explore the central areas which have more cultural attractions. The National Palace Museum houses a vast collection of Chinese artefacts but those who want to see more contemporary sights can pay a visit to the Taipei 101, the second tallest skyscraper in the world. If you enjoy an evening walk, be sure to stop in at some of the markets such as the Shilin Night Market for some traditional Taiwanese snacks and have a browse through the clothing and trinkets on offer while you are there. While out exploring the attractions and the night markets, it is wise to keep safety on the agenda.

    Safety tips when visiting Taipei

Travellers will soon notice that Taipei is one of the safer destinations and the locals are extremely welcoming. However, it is still best to take basic precautions with your cash and belongings. The main area of concern is extreme weather conditions which could cause an accident or injury at any point during your trip. The travel company should warn you about this before you book as typhoons are known to make the occasional seasonal appearance. There is some seismic activity although extreme earthquakes are rare. Your hotel and your travel company have a responsibility to keep you safe during your holiday. They should employ health and safety procedures at all times to ensure that the risk of an accident, injury or illness occurring is significantly reduced. If you feel that you had an accident during your package holiday and want to make a claim to your travel company then here’s what you can do.
