Staying safe on the Easter long weekend

Easter means different things to different people. For some it is about religion, others family and for some it is just a nice long break from work. Here are our tips to avoid a travel accident and stay safe on the Easter long weekend.

Be prepared in order to avoid a travel accident

If you are planning going out on the Easter weekend whether just for the day or the whole weekend. Make sure you are prepared to avoid a travel accident. This means planning your route before you leave, take supplies such as water with you and leave plenty of time to reach your destination. This will help prevent a travel accident and greatly reduce stress levels.

Take plenty to amuse the kids

Travelling with kids can be stressful. To ease the stress and thus reduce the risk of a travel accident make sure you pack plenty to entertain them, from books and music to games and toys.

Avoid peak times to avoid a travel injury

If you have to drive anywhere try and avoid the peak times which tend to be the Friday afternoon and Sunday night as these are the times when families are travelling to and from their breaks. By avoiding peak times it will be quieter on the roads and less chance of a travel accident such as a car collision.

Unfortunately travel accidents can and do happen and Easter weekend can be a common weekend for accidents to occur due to how congested the roads and towns are. If you have had a travel accident within the last 3 years that wasn’t your fault, you may be able to make a claim.
