    Injury claim jargon buster: Amendments

When making a work injury claim the words and language used in the paperwork can be confusing and often intimidating.

With words, such as litigation or liability, for example, the legal process can be a daunting task. This is particularly true if you have not got a good lawyer to translate this jargon whilst making your claim.

One such word that can be difficult to understand the meaning of is amendments.

What does amendments mean in relation to my accident claim?

The literal meaning of amendments is the changing of something or altering of information. When it is in relation to an accident at work claim an amendment can be a piece of data that has been changed or altered due to a change in circumstance.

What change of circumstances causes amendments to be made in an accident claim?

There are many reasons why information is amended during an accident claim. There could be new evidence which alters some of the data already provided or one of the parties involved could have changed their mind or altered their story. In these accident claim cases their lawyer would make suitable amendments.
