We look at some of the accidents a mystery shopper might experience.

    1. Slips, trips and falls
The seriousness of slipping, tripping or falling can never be overstated. An accident such as a slip or a trip may occur at any time and in any place and mystery shoppers may experience a slip or a trip in premises they are inspecting
    2. E.coli
Mystery shoppers are often employed in the catering industry to inspect food hygiene standards.  This also means sampling food that has been prepared which could lead to an increased risk of E.coli or food poisoning.
    3. Defective products
Mystery shoppers are not only employed to observe the catering and retail industries. Mystery shoppers will often purchase products as instructed by the company and will test the products to check their suitability for use. This means a mystery shopper might suffer an accident as the result of a product which may be defective or even dangerous as the scope of accidents which can be caused by a defective product range from allergic reactions to burns or electric shock is quite wide.
    4. Car accidents
Again you might be wondering just how mystery shoppers could be involved in a car accident. As stated, mystery shoppers are employed right across the spectrum and even inspect garages. A mystery shopper in this field will usually be an expert and will assess the work of a mechanic to ensure that it is of a high standard.  However, if work is not performed to a high or safe standard it could result in a road traffic collision.
    5. Accidents on holiday
Some of the more fortunate mystery shoppers will be employed to assess holiday destinations. Although this has been mostly displaced by online reviews and bloggers, mystery shoppers may be asked to report on specific hotels or holiday destinations, increasing the chances of an accident on holiday.
