The city of Lincoln is a beautiful and picturesque part of the country that has a wealth of interesting history that attracts tourists all year round. There are hotels, B&Bs and holiday parks aplenty in Lincoln, all with great views and access to the best things the city has to offer, but sometimes, the places in which we settle down for the night aren’t as safe as they should be, and can cause a whole host of travel accident compensation claims.
Faulty hotel facilities
When you look to book a hotel, one thing that attracts us to a certain accommodation is the amenities and facilities that it has to offer, but if you stay in a hotel and find the equipment faulty or broken , your health and wellbeing is at risk. Faulty and defective hotel rooms can cause all sorts of travel accidents, such as slips, trips and falls, shocks, cuts and even broken bones. If you suspect your hotel has defective facilities, alert staff immediately. Airing your concerns is a lot safer than being at risk of an accident on holiday.
Whether you’re staying at a camp site or a hotel, there is always a risk of a slip or trip. Rivers, lakes and ponds can be a breeding ground for slips and falls when staying at a holiday park, and where there’s a swimming pool there is also the same risk. Make sure you tread carefully in hotels that have pools or jacuzzi areas, and if you think a lake or pond looks unsafe, avoid it. Its unsafe, slippery surface could cause you to have an injury on holiday.
Most accommodation services, whether they be hotel or holiday park, offer food in some shape or form. Although it isn’t an obvious holiday accident, food poisoning is a frequently contracted disease whilst abroad, and is one that is passed to guests when food has not been prepared and stored safely and correctly. Make sure your food is always piping hot and any concerns you have be sure to inform staff as soon as you notice the fault.
