    Workplace injury claim in Rutherglen

If someone that you are working with does something wrong, then it is up to them to let your employer know what they have done, and to try to fix the situation as soon as possible. It is not up to you to tell your employer on behalf of your colleague, and in the first instance this will just make you look bad in front of your employer as well as your colleague.

However, there is a line to be drawn, as if every employee ignored serious situations in order to allow their colleagues to speak for themselves, very serious problems could go unnoticed for months. Here are some things that you can do if you feel that your colleague has done something wrong.

    • Talk to your colleague about it. There is a chance that your colleague doesn’t even know that they have done something wrong, in which case you can let them know so that they can make changes and stop it from happening again. You can also talk them through the situation if they are upset or stressed out about it.
    • Help them to fix the situation. Sometimes the best thing you can do for a colleague that has done something wrong is to help them to ease the situation rather than trying to blame them for what has gone wrong. If you work together you may be able to fix any problems so much faster.
    • See what can be done to stop it happening again. If there is anything you can do individually or as a team to stop the same problem happening again then you should definitely think about this and work out a plan which will help you to prevent the same thing occurring time and time again.
    • Tell your employer. As a last resort, and only if you feel that the situation is serious enough, tell your employer what is happening so that they can step in and fix the situation.

If you have been injured at your place of work in an accident that was caused by your employer’s or a fellow employee’s negligence, you may be entitled to compensation.
