How to work well whilst you are ill and make a workplace injury claim in Hinckley and Bosworth
Making a workplace injury claim in Hinckley and Bosworth might seem like an effort too far.
If you are ill or injured then most of your energy will be taken up with coping with your recovery and dealing with much of the trauma you’ve suffered.
For this reason, most people who are ill or injured will take some time off work for their recovery.
However, it may not always be possible to take sick leave for the whole time that you are recovering. If you do need to return to work whilst you are still recovering, here are some ways in which you can perform better.
- Take it slow. Just because you want to work well doesn’t mean that you have to work fast. In many cases people actually work better when they take their time anyway and being ill or injured gives you the perfect opportunity to be slow and methodical. Remember that working past the point of tiredness will slow your recovery.
- Be upfront. Speak to your employer when you return to work and let them know how your illness or injury is likely to affect your work for the time being. This helps them to understand what your limitations are at this time and not expect anything of you that you are not able to give.
- Get help. Ask for assistance in jobs where you need to do more physical work, or which will tire you out easily. You will be physically incapable of working to the level you could before, so make sure that you get help so that you can have the same output.
- Work part time. As mentioned previously, tiredness will make it difficult for you to work well and may cause you not to do your job correctly. When you first return, try coming back on a part time basis and build up to full time work again.
