The West Midlands is a county in the middle part of England over towards the west, hence the name. Around 2.8 million people live in this area, which encompasses the cities of Wolverhampton and Birmingham, among others. Some people work in the cities, while others stick to more rural parts and areas that are closer to home. A workplace accident claim in West Midlands is no more likely to happen here than in any other county in England.
That’s the good news; unfortunately, there are still cases where people have to claim in order to get what is rightfully theirs. If you were to have an accident at work that was due to a severe lack of health and safety measures, you would probably want to do the same.
How do you know if you could claim or not?
Some people are uncertain of whether an accident was someone else’s fault. In some cases, it is more obvious than others. For example, if someone was due to perform a risk assessment on the job you do and they never bothered to do it, that would be negligent. On the other hand, if someone had done it and you failed to follow instructions, leading directly to your injury, this would probably be your fault.
Things like proper training, risk assessments, personal protective equipment and safety guards can all make the difference between being injured and being able to do our jobs in complete safety. It makes sense then that people should follow up the possibility of a claim if they feel they weren’t as safe as they could and should have been.
