Compensation claims for a health issue caused by a hospital delay will require no win no fee* lawyers in Chelmsford

The city of Chelmsford is situated in the Essex county in England and there have been concerns raised here recently over ambulance response times after an elderly woman died while she was in an ambulance that was waiting to be admitted into a hospital. Relatives of the woman were heartbroken and have demanded that an apology be given by health bosses.

The elderly woman had suffered a suspected heart attack in the afternoon and was promptly taken to Morriston Hospital in Swansea where she was assessed but forced to stay in the ambulance with a doctor and paramedics. Family members of the elderly woman have said that after waiting in the ambulance to be admitted for over an hour, she died. Health bosses have said that the wait time was an estimated 40 minutes and have said that they will be making a full investigation into the incident.

An issue that will be likely to be investigated is the transfer of the elderly woman from the Neah Port Talbot Hospital to Morriston Hospital as it may have given doctors more time to treat her if she had not been transferred. A doctor from Morriston questioned the move as she would have received the same treatment at Neath Port Talbot Hospital.

A joint statement was made by the ABMU and the Welsh Ambulance Service in regards to the woman’s death and it stated that she was not admitted to the Morriston Hospital as there was a number of ambulances that arrived at the time and there was a queue of patients in front of the woman. The statement adds that the hospital staff will be working with the ambulance service to make sure that any future delays are minimised. This incident has come at a time when the Welsh Ambulance Service had failed to meet its response targets for almost a year.
