How to protect yourself in an attack – no win no fee* in Crail

If you are attacked then it could lead to very serious injuries or even death. You may be attacked as part of a mugging, or as part of a larger fight. In some cases people can be attacked for almost no reason. It is important that you know how best to take care of yourself if you are attacked and how to lessen the extent of your injuries when trying to get out of an attack. Here are some tips on protecting yourself safely during an attack.

    • Protect your head and neck. Your head and neck are the most vulnerable parts of your body, and an injury to either of these could lead to far more serious injuries than anywhere else. If you are being attacked and cannot get away, then hold your arms over your head and neck, or curl into a ball and let your whole body protect these areas.
    • Try to get away. Don’t stay and fight if you are being attacked. If you have the opportunity to get away then do so, as soon as you can. If you are able to get away then run and don’t stop until you find yourself somewhere safe, with other people around.
    • Hand over your belongings. If you are being attacked for your belongings then always remember that your life is far more important than even your most expensive possession. Throw your possessions away from you so that the potential mugger will go for those instead of coming closer to you, in which case you can run.
    • Make a lot of noise. Any attacker will want to get away without being caught, so the more noise you make the better, as this will cause the attacker to want to stop what they are doing and get away before someone comes to investigate.

How to make a no win no fee* Crail claim

If you are attacked and your attacker is caught, you may well be able to make a compensation claim against them to get compensation for your injuries. The best way to make such a claim is to speak to a personal injury lawyer, as they know the law better than you and will be able to put together a good case which is more likely to lead to a successful no win no fee* Crail claim.

Call Accident Advice Helpline on 0800 689 0500, or 0333 500 0993 from a mobile to speak to the team about the incident, and work out with their help whether you have a good case for compensation or not. You are under no obligation to proceed after this initial phone call, but if you do decide to go ahead then you will be passed over to our in house experienced and dedicated personal injury lawyers.

Your lawyers will work on a 100% no win no fee* Crail basis to get you the compensation you deserve, and will also work on your behalf, so you won’t have to face your attacker in court. You can use the helpline to get advice and support 24 hours a day if necessary, or to chase up your no win no fee* Crail claim.
