How to take care of yourself after a traumatic event – no win no fee* in Cowes

If you have gone through a traumatic event then it can be very difficult to get back to normal as quickly as you would like to. If your traumatic event was an accident then you may find that your physical injuries heal much more quickly than your emotional issues, which can take quite some time to ease up, and may never fully heal. You can get back to a state where you feel confident and comfortable with going about your day to day life though, if you let it happen in its own time. In the meantime, here are some ways to take care of yourself when you are recovering from a trauma.

    Be nice to yourself

One of the most important things you can do to recover from a trauma is simply to be nice to yourself. Take baths, rest, watch a favourite movie or eat your favourite food. Now is not the time to be dieting, working too hard, or facing difficult situations. Just relax and take a holiday from stressful situations.

    Talk it through

The best way to deal with a trauma is to speak to a counsellor or therapist about your accident and explain how it made you feel. Just being able to talk about it, and feeling free to be completely honest about your feelings, can help you to feel more in control.

    Avoid sources of pain

Although you will eventually have to get back to normal and face getting into a car (for example, if your trauma was a road accident), for the time being you should just be gentle with yourself and stay away from anything which triggers painful feelings. When it is time to get back to normal, you should ease into it, and take it slowly.

How to make a no win no fee* Cowes claim

If your traumatic event was an accident or serious injury, then you may be able to make a no win no fee* Cowes claim against the person who caused it, as long as you have evidence that your accident was caused by someone else. Accident Advice Helpline has 15 years’ experience in the field of no win no fee* Cowes compensation claims, and works with experienced and dedicated personal injury lawyers to get you the compensation you deserve.
