Build up a little more each week, and if it hurts too much then simply stop.
    • Try low impact exercise. The best type of exercise for those recovering from an injury is low impact exercise, that works out the muscles and tendons, but doesn’t require the intensity of, say, running or weightlifting. Try swimming or stationary cycling when you first start to exercise. Swimming in particular is great, because the water supports you as you exercise, and the exercise works your entire body.
    • Speak to a physiotherapist. A physiotherapist will be able to suggest exercises which will benefit your body the most, and which pose the least threat to your health as you are recovering. They can also work out with you to give you tips and help.
    • Rest. As important as exercise is, rest is also important. Taking a rest day will help your muscles to recover and build up, whilst working out too much every day is more likely to cause a blow out that may take even longer to recover from.
