    Whiplash Injury in Scole

East Anglia is a popular area with holidaymakers, who go to the Norfolk Broads and the coast, as well as to enjoy the rural delights of the area. When you go for a break anywhere, including East Anglia, there is always the risk of ending up with an injury.

If you get a whiplash injury in Scole, you need to know what to do about it – after all, you could be away from home, in unfamiliar surroundings.

    But first: what is whiplash?

Whiplash is an injury to the neck’s tendons and ligaments, and it happens when sudden impact causes the head to jerk. This causes pulling on the neck.

The symptoms are pain, stiffness and tenderness – and possibly dizziness, nausea and headaches, too. You will almost certainly find it difficult to move your neck.

What to do about your whiplash injury in Scole

If you find yourself with a whiplash injury, seek medical attention as soon as you can. If you’re on holiday in the area, search for a local GP who might be able to see you, or go to the nearest hospital; you could even ring NHS Direct and they could direct you as to what you should do.

If you’re going back home soon, you might want to wait until you get back to see your own doctor. But don’t neglect your whiplash injury in Scole – if you need to see someone, do so.

    Following your diagnosis

After you have been to the doctor and had your whiplash diagnosed, you will probably need to get some rest. You may be taking painkillers, too; the pain can actually worsen for a few days after the initial impact, so you could need pain relief.

The good news is that whiplash doesn’t normally last longer than a few weeks, so everything could be back to normal before too long.

    Financial problems arising from whiplash

If you need to take time off work, you could find yourself in some financial difficulty, because your wages could drop. You may also need the services of a home help or a childminder; perhaps even taxis and buses, too, since you cannot drive with a painful neck.

You will be pleased to know that these losses can be clawed back, and all you have to do is call 0800 689 0500 from a landline, or 0333 500 0993 from a mobile, to get started with a claim through Accident Advice Helpline!
