    Whiplash Injury in Muswell Hill

You don’t just sustain a whiplash injury in Muswell Hill, or elsewhere, if you have been involved in a collision with another vehicle, although we tend to equate whiplash injuries with car accidents these days. You may sustain a whiplash injury in Muswell Hill, for example, if you receive a sudden blow to the head. If you have suffered a whiplash injury in Muswell Hill, you may be able to make a personal injury compensation claim if you can prove that your accident was not your fault, but was caused by another person.

How long do I have to make a claim?

Although you usually have three years from the date of an accident in which to file a claim, this is not always the case. Sometimes, the time period for filing a claim is much less, depending on the type of accident in which you were involved. If you need to find out how long you have to file your potential claim, call us at Accident Advice Helpline. We are the experts in personal injury claims; our freephone numbers are given below.

How much compensation would I receive for a whiplash injury?

There’s no way of knowing precisely how much you could receive for a whiplash injury, or any other injury, as each case is different. You can claim compensation for damage to personal property, medical care, and expenses (such as prescription charges, as long as you have the receipts), loss of earnings, and loss of amenity or quality of life, if your injury means that you can no longer pursue a hobby, for example.

The Judicial College guidelines provide broad bands which indicate the amount of compensation you could receive for the pain, distress, and suffering caused by your injuries, which range between £1,705 to £3,520 for a minor whiplash injury from which you are expected to fully recover from within a year. If you are not expected to recover for longer, then the amount of compensation you receive will be increased.
