Meriden is a village in the West Midlands, although it used to be part of Warwickshire. It also used to be home to the Triumph motorcycle plant. There’s a Grade II listed cross on the village green and it is claimed that the place where it stands is the centre of England. However, it isn’t according to the Ordnance Survey team, who pinpointed the centre at Fenny Drayton in Leicestershire, eleven miles to the north of Meriden. The original, famous “Bull’s Head” inn was actually in what is now Darlaston Hall, and it was there that Queen (she was a princess at the time), Victoria stayed in 1832. There is still a pub by the same name in the village, but it is a more recent building. The original is a Georgian mansion.
Have you had a whiplash injury in Meriden?
If your pride and joy is one of the vintage Triumph motorbikes built in Meriden, you might have been riding it down a country land close to the village, when all of a sudden a herd of cows was in your path; you might have braked hard, the bike could have gone into a skid and you may have sustained a whiplash injury in Meriden. If you wanted to make a personal injury compensation claim for your injuries, you would have to prove that the accident was not your fault. You might, of course have been negotiating those country roads too quickly, and so the accident could be said to have been your fault. However, if the cows had escaped from their enclosure because a fence had been broken, the farmer who owned them may have been responsible for your whiplash injury in Meriden and so you may be able to file a claim against them. Farmers must maintain fences on their farms so that animals cannot get onto roads and cause accidents which result in a injury.
