    Whiplash injury in Chadderton

If in the future you suffer a whiplash injury in Chadderton, or in any other town, village or city in the UK, it might take slightly longer than it does presently to process any claim for compensation you make.

Specialist medical panels to be set up

With the UK holding the worst record by far of any of the countries in Europe for the number of whiplash injury claims being registered each and every year, the Ministry of Justice has recently confirmed that it plans to convene a working group to look at the setting up of specialist medical panels with the express purpose of evaluating whiplash compensation claims. This follows suggestions put forward in October 2013 by the government and the Association of British Insurers.

    Panels will represent all parties

It is thought the new medical panel will likely consist of representatives of claimants, the lawyers acting for insurance companies, and elected members of the Law Society and the British Medical Association.

Simple proof may no longer be enough

This just goes to prove something that AAH have been advocating for many months: the fact that all claims being registered for whiplash should be accompanied, or have access to, appropriate medical proof. It is not yet clear whether all whiplash injury claims will be forwarded to the panel or just those that seem outrageously extravagant. In all likelihood it will be the second of the two options, as with the claim rate clocking the scales at nearly one every minute, the medical panel would have to be in permanent session.

The criteria that validate all personal injury claims

As with any whiplash injury in Chadderton, or any other type of personal injury, anywhere; apart from the fact that having medical proof of the injury has always been advantageous, there are certain other criteria which must also be taken into consideration:

    Open Claim Calculator

    • The blame for the injury or the accident/incident or circumstances that brought the injury about, must lie with a third party.
    • The injury must be of a reasonably substantial nature, or have reasonably serious consequences, such as incurring additional expenses or compromising someone’s ability to earn an income.
    • The injury must have taken place within the past three years, although there is some talk about the three year window being reduced.

Pre-validating and valuing your claim in principle

If before you register your claim you would like to find out how much it could be worth, you should visit the AAH website and use our online, 30 second HOW MUCH calculator. It both validates and values your potential claim in principle.
