    Claiming for whiplash in Wandsworth

If you have been diagnosed with whiplash in Wandsworth, and you think the accident which caused this injury was not your fault, then you might be entitled to make a claim.

To find out more contact Accident Advice Helpline and we will happily answer any questions you may have.

    What is whiplash?

Whiplash is technically the damage done to the muscles, ligaments and soft tissue of the neck. Generally it is caused when an individual is subjected to some form of impact where the head or body is subjected to a sudden jolt. It is this jolt, often caused by a road traffic accident, which causes the injury itself.

The symptoms of whiplash can vary from to person, and will of course be dependent upon the force of the impact which caused the injury in the first place. However, symptoms generally include:

    • Pain or stiffness in the neck which often causes reduction in movement
    • Headaches
    • Spasms
    • Pains radiating around the shoulders and arms

More serious cases of whiplash can cause nausea, sickness, dizziness and even passing out.

Unfortunately there is no treatment for whiplash in the strictest sense of the word. For most people the symptoms they associate with whiplash will disappear of their own accord over a few days. It is often advised that you rest, and avoid driving for a few days, as well as any other strenuous activities.

    Making a claim

Some people wonder whether or not they should make a Wandsworth compensation for whiplash if the symptoms disappear on their own after a few days without any real treatment.

Ultimately it is a decision only you can make; however, the team here at Accident Advice Helpline will help you if it is additional information that you require.
