    Whiplash lawsuit

It is the responsibility and duty of the local council for making sure the roads are maintained and in good condition. However, because money is tight at the moment, the roads are not kept in as good as condition as they ought to be.

Accidents on the roads are sometimes caused because of bad road surfaces and potholes, as a result you may be able to make a whiplash lawsuit if you have been injured in this way.

Why innocent victims may not make a whiplash lawsuit for potholes

Recent statistics show that over half of the drivers or bike riders do not bother to make a whiplash lawsuit against their local authorities if they have had an accident. It seems that they just accept what has happened to them and pay for any damages that have been caused and carry on with their lives.

One reason for this may be the prospect of having to deal with the local council.

Victims should consider the fact that their bike might be repairable, but they may not. Some injuries are so severe your life can be changed forever.

The injuries that could happen to you because of potholes in the road

The injuries, that you the innocent victim, may suffer through an accident because of potholes in the road are:

    •  Internal injuries
    •  Head or brain injuries
    •  Back or spine injuries
    •  Soft tissue injuries
    •  Broken bones
    •  Facial injuries

These are only a few of the injuries that you may suffer, but what they do show is how bad your injuries may be just by hitting a pothole in the road.

    Dealing with the right people

The majority of accidents for two wheeled riders are solo events, where no other vehicle is involved and a lot of those are because of the state of our roads.

If you find yourself in the situation where you have been injured in this way, if your injuries were bad enough to need medical attention, and the accident happened no more than three years ago, you could be entitled to claim compensation.
