Have you been injured in a Westminster car accident? If you have, you may be wondering if you can make a personal injury compensation claim. To find out if you can, why not phone or text us at Accident Advice Helpline? You will find our contact details below.

Claiming after a Westminster car accident

You need to find out, first of all, if you have a valid claim to make. You must prove that you were not to blame for the accident in which you were injured. You also need to be able to prove that the accident was caused by another person’s negligence or recklessness. We at Accident Advice Helpline can help you do this.

You can contact us and speak with one of our expert legal advisers on the phone. You will need to explain how the accident happened. Tell the adviser the date of the accident and about your injuries.

When the adviser has a clear picture of how the accident happened, he or she, will be able to tell you if you are, in fact, eligible to make a claim or not. If you can make a claim for your injuries the claims’ process can be started over the phone.

Normally, if your accident happened in the British Isles, you have three years from its date to file a claim. As it would be very difficult to file any claim after the deadline for doing so had passed, the sooner you begin the claims’ process the better. You wouldn’t want to lose the chance of getting compensation for your injuries, would you?

Documents needed to file a claim

You will certainly need to produce your medical records. These should prove that you had medical treatment as soon as you could after the accident. If you delayed seeking treatment, this could negatively affect your claim. These records will be used to work out how much compensation you could get in terms of general damages for your injuries.

If the police were at the accident scene, you will need a copy of their accident report which should prove that you were not to blame for the accident.

Payslips will be needed if you claim for lost earnings.
