"If you've been injured through no fault of your own you could be entitled to compensation. If you're unsure if you could claim, I recommend you call Accident Advice Helpline."

Victim of a fall in Moray

Slips, trips and falls are a common occurrence and in most cases, they are caused by someone else’s carelessness. Examples of slips, trips and falls caused through no fault of your own include slips on wet supermarket floors, trips over defective pavements and roads, falls on icy surfaces such as footpaths and stairs, and trips over trailing cables in the workplace.

All of the above examples of slip, trip and fall accidents have the potential to cause serious injuries. If you have been unfortunate enough to be the victim of a fall in Moray, you must contact Accident Advice Helpline as soon as possible to receive advice on your potential personal injury claim.

How to go about making a accident claim if you have been the victim of a fall in Moray

You will only be able to bring a claim if you can prove that:

    1. The person or organisation you wish to claim had a responsibility to protect you from slips, trips and falls
    2. They failed to carry out their duties, for example, they did not comply with health and safety rules
    3. Their failure caused you to be the victim of a fall in Moray and/or sustain financial losses

To help your case, you will need to provide us with evidence in the form of accident book entries, witness contact details and photographs of the area where your accident occurred. If you intend to claim for the expenses resulting from your accident, you will also need to supply us with invoices, receipts, wage slips and other such documentation.

As part of the claims process, we will ask your GP or hospital consultant to provide us with a copy of any medical records that support the injuries you have sustained. We will also instruct an independent medical specialist to examine you with a view to providing a written report summarising the circumstances of your accident, the injuries you have sustained, the treatment you have received and a likely timescale for your recovery. We will then use this report to persuade the other side to pay out for your compensation claim.
