    Unexpected accident in Boxted

Boxted is a village and civil parish within the English county of Essex, situated approximately five miles North of Colchester and 24 miles North East of the county town of Chelmsford. The village is possibly most famous as being the site of a series of skirmishes between parliamentarian and royalist troops in 1648, known as the Battle of Boxted Heath. During the upheavals caused by the Black Death, the village actually split into two settlements known as Boxted and Boxted Cross when residents moved across the valley from the ‘old Boxted’ in an attempt to escape infection. We want to hear from you if you’ve been in an unexpected accident in Boxted.

In more recent history the village, along with many others within the UK, saw a large scale exodus in 1630 when a number of residents including the village vicar George Phillips emigrated to the developing North American continent. In the modern day, there has been less upheaval and for a number of years the population has remained fairly constant at around 3,500. This is in fact quite a large population for a village, and does mean that for injury lawyers Boxted does produce a comparatively large number of personal injury compensation claims.

As mentioned above, for injury lawyers Boxted does create a fair number of personal injury compensation claims, especially when you consider that it is a village, and this does demonstrate an interesting point about compensation. The point which the fact that for injury lawyers Boxted does create a comparatively large number of claims demonstrates, is that in the same way that accidents and injuries can occur anywhere so can compensation claims. What all of this means therefore, is that Boxted residents may well find the answers to the following frequently asked questions about compensation and the claims process illuminating.

When and why is compensation available?

The law states that if you are injured or fall ill and it was demonstrably somebody else’s fault, then you are entitled to seek personal injury compensation. This compensation is available in order to offer victims some measure of recompense for the physical, emotional and financial hardships that they have suffered as a result of their ailments.

How long do you have to claim?

In the majority of cases you must begin claims proceedings within three years of the event in question or else you unfortunately lose your ability to claim. The only types of claim where this is not the case are those which deal with either an injury to a minor or an industrial disease.
